Starting now and running up as late as early October, Ohio grown tomatoes are here. Showing up in our neighborhood gardens, farm markets and roadside stands. All shapes and colors…this is my favorite time of the season. What will you make? Salsa, marinara, toast and tomato sandwich or fresh out of the garden with a little salt……
This is Rob, owner/operator of Redde Hedde Farms. Rob grows all kinds of great produce, unique produce. The greatest thing about knowing your farmer is that ultimately they get to know you back. This creates a great working relationship. So great in fact that they will start to growing unique and hard to find items just for you. Take a few moments to get to know the person responsible for growing of your produce, raising of animals and eggs, honey, cheese and on and on. He or she is an important part of your life.
When you cook for a living, it grinds on the soul. Selling your work over and over makes the process less special, less pure.
My daughter Allie had a great idea for a belated birthday dinner. She wanted Salmon en Croute after she had seen in a cookbook. So we made the whole thing a learning fun experience. My wife, my children and my grandchildren all got our hands dirty, talking, laughing and tasting our simple dinner on Salmon en Phyllo, roasted potatoes, mixed green salad and a baguette. All participated and most enjoyed….a little fussy for the younger ones. Objective was to have fun, make and have a meal together…mission accomplished.
We started this journey on March 14th, 2015 in the parking lot of the Ohio Taproom..thank you John Evans for hosting that crazy day. Over the past year and a half, we have served folks at taprooms, bars, yard parties, weddings and graduations. We managed a few festivals along the way, corporate lunch circuit and family get togethers. We have met a lot of great people along the way and also just happened to feed them our innovative rustic menu.
We now begin the next chapter in our story as we partner with PINS Mechanical Company and set up shop at the corner of Long and North 4th. We are located on the back patio and will go year round , thanks to a heated patio. Come join us, now that we are easier to find…taste what’s next
I absolutely love mornings like this, cool breeze, light clouds and us doing a Farmer’s in Westgate. Individual producers, farmers, craftsman and food trucks…working hand in hand with the community. Couples, families, and folks with their dogs walking, and talking with their neighbors. Life is good
We are excited to announce and honored to announce our official move to non GMO, pasture raised chicken and eggs. The farm we choose to partner with is Covey Rise Farms, run by Charlie Payne and family in Radnor Ohio, roughly forty minutes from Columbus.
We knew our pork was from Ohio and told our chicken was, but could not confirm. It could have come from Alabama, Georgia or North Carolina for we knew. The one thing we knew for certain was that we had to know for certain. Now we know and guests to our truck know. Local, GMO free, pasture and humanely raised in Radnor Ohio. Farmed and raised by Charlie Payne and family. .yes we know our farmer. Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, logistically and financially, but you’ll agree in the superior flavor of chicken and eggs we will be offering on Por’ketta starting beginning of June.
Out of all the different types of events we do for people, I would have to say my favorite is the wedding. It is the official start of a couple’s life together in the eyes of their maker and their friends & family. This is when we operate at our highest level. The food and the service have to be perfect or at least nearing that level. You do not want to be the vendor or purveyor that comes up short on such a day. This is our goal for every party , event or special occasion we do. Let us stress so you don’t have too. Call us today at 614-570-1107, or email us at email@example.com. ….let’s make some great memories .
